Now more than ever, we — your Board of Directors — want our volunteers to know just how deeply they are appreciated.

Below are the current benefits and opportunities available to volunteers who meet AVAD’s minimum service commitment — a small token of gratitude for the enormous impact they make in our community.
Hometown Care, Reimagined — Two Rivers Primary Care (DPC Membership)
Two Rivers direct primary care model is built around accessible, personalized healthcare without the usual insurance hurdles. It emphasizes strong patient‑provider relationships, streamlined services, and affordability — the kind of care that feels like home.
AVAD proudly provides full monthly membership for qualifying volunteers and their spouse/significant other, ensuring you have reliable, connected healthcare right here in Chaffee County.

FirstNet is the nationwide wireless network dedicated to America’s first responders. It provides priority access, enhanced coverage, and reliable communication during emergencies.
AVAD offers quarterly reimbursements that fully cover the cost of AT&T FirstNet basic monthly service, including taxes and fees, for full‑time volunteers. You simply transfer your existing number to a subscriber‑paid FirstNet account, and AVAD reimburses you every quarter.

Medical emergencies can create unexpected financial burdens, especially when air transport is involved. AirMedCare Network membership ensures no out‑of‑pocket expenses if you are flown by an AMCN provider.
AVAD covers the annual membership cost for full‑time volunteers and their spouse/significant other, giving you peace of mind when it matters most.
Dental health matters, and we want to make it easy. Full‑time volunteers receive up to $300 per year in dental coverage through Peak to Peak Mobile Dental Services — enough for two cleanings and one set of x‑rays.
Billing goes directly to AVAD, with no out‑of‑pocket costs at or below the annual allowance.
Emergency response takes a toll, and we want every volunteer to have access to mental‑health resources that support both physical and emotional wellbeing.
- Path4EMS provides up to 15 free sessions for EMT‑certified volunteers.
- Code‑4 Counseling offers up to 3 free sessions per year for non‑certified responders.
Every person who answers a call deserves support — these programs help ensure you have it.
Except in rare circumstances, AVAD volunteers choose their own shifts. This self‑scheduling model gives you maximum flexibility to balance service with family, work, and personal commitments.
AVAD is committed to keeping our volunteers skilled, confident, and up‑to‑date. We offer support for educational expenses and provide continuous training opportunities throughout the year — from CPR/AED refreshers to advanced EMS coursework.
We love celebrating the people who make AVAD possible. Throughout the year, we host appreciation events to recognize your service, strengthen our team, and enjoy time together outside of emergency calls.
AVAD will provide you with all the necessary tools of the trade including unifoms, warm and cold weather gear, jump bags, hats, gloves, etc.
